The construction operations for the largest broiler chicken breeding complex in the country began in Khodabandeh on Tuesday, marking the fifth day of Government Week, with the attendance of various officials and managers from Zanjan province. During the inauguration of this project, Zanjan’s Governor Afsharchi stated that the goal in the province is to diversify wealth production centers. He emphasized that increasing production capacity in various sectors will enhance employment and boost the economy, while also facilitating market regulation in the province.
The CEO of Sabzdasht Agricultural and Industrial Holding, who is overseeing this project, also spoke at the ceremony. Ms. Maryam Zahed mentioned that the company currently operates in six provinces across the country, having established one of the most complete production chains in the nation. She noted that more than 1,500 people are employed in the company’s production facilities nationwide, and the company has made a significant contribution to exports.
Ms. Zahed stressed the necessity to expedite the provision of infrastructure needed for this unit, stating that the project will have a production capacity of 1.5 million broiler chickens, with an investment of over 12 trillion rials. The first phase of this project is expected to be operational within a year.
The head of the Agriculture Jihad Organization of Zanjan province also remarked at the event that the province currently contributes 2.5% to the national chicken meat production. He added that the establishment of this complex will increase the province’s contribution to national production by 0.5%, raising it to 3%. Rouhollah Hassani noted that this project, with a production capacity of 1.5 million chickens, will become the largest chicken meat production facility in the country.
